The countdown is on …

There are less than 5 days until the biggest event on the St Peters social calendar and the culmination of over 12 months worth of hard work: St Petersfest 2015!

Behind the scenes, Parents and Friends Chairperson Mrs Narelle Adams and St Petersfest convenor Mrs Nicky Hart and their merry band (aka committee) have been toiling away, planning, sourcing, organising and preparing for what they’re touting as ‘a different kind of fete’.

“There’ll be all the perennial favourites like the cake and home produce stall, lollies and treats, silent auction, a gourmet BBQ and other great food stalls (of course), but this year we’ve invited local producers and makers to sell their ‘wares’ in the St Peters Marketplace”, says Narelle. “There’s an exciting mix of craft and produce – perfect for stocking up for Christmas!”

“The kids will have plenty of choice when it comes to amusements and rides,” adds Nicky “with a giant bouncy castle and slide, water balls and Bungy Tramps, and the Dragon Wagon for the little kids. Rooms 1 and 2 (Years 5, 6 and 7) will also be hosting amusement stalls: a chocolate game and an opportunity to show your affection for the Year Sevens and Principal, Mr Rathjen, at the wet sponge toss”.

There’s a great line-up of local talent on show on the main stage including the St Peters Percussion Ensemble and Skipping Squad, Accent on Dance, Mitcham Rhythmic Gymnastics, Living Proof and Chris Yip: The Tricky Yippy Illusion Show.

The fete committee has worked hard to make this event ‘super value for money’ with plenty of free activities as well as paid ones. “AMF Bowling will be there, as will Intencity with free fun stuff. But if you want convenience and super value, pre-purchase a day-pass online”, Narelle says. “You get a showbag, sausage sizzle, fruit box drink, and a Paddle Pop ice-cream. Plus you also get a Lucky Dip or choose from one of the school hosted games! They [the day-passes] really are the best value. But get in quick because they will sell out and they won’t be available to buy on the day!”

So get on down to St Petersfest. This Sunday, 8 November 2015 11am – 4pm at Hewitt Reserve (cnr Coromandel Parade and Cumming Street). Or better still, why not volunteer your time? These events couldn’t (and wouldn’t) happen without volunteers. It’s not too late to put your hand up – register online here.

Bring your family! Bring your friends! See you at St Petersfest!

The St Petersfest fete committee are planning a ‘different kind of fete’. The committee consists of Nicky Hart (convenor), Narelle Adams (Chairperson, P&F), Monique Gray, Mel Russell, Janine Brodie, Cheryl Rollison and Amanda Martin.

Just some of the fantastic prizes up for grabs at the Silent Auction!
