At the St Peters Early Learning Centre (ELC) we provide quality education in an environment that is:

  • nurturing,

  • stimulating,

  • challenging,

  • supportive and

  • encouraging of children as individuals.

We believe that parents are children’s primary educators and it is important that we work with you for the benefit of your child. We encourage parent involvement learning program at the ELC. This may vary from taking a small group art/craft activities to a range of other behind the scene preparation.

We aim to build a friendly and respectful community where all members treat each other with dignity, humour and respect.

Boys and girls from three years of age who are socially ready, are toilet trained and ready to spend time at pre-school, are welcome at the ELC.

Our learning program is based on:

  • The internationally acclaimed International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program, covering all learning areas through an inquiry based approach to learning
  • The Christian Studies Framework (Lutheran Education Australia), giving a Christian foundation to all learning experiences; and
  • The Early Years Learning Framework.

The ELC is part of the campus of St Peters School. Consequently we are able to offer Indonesian, Physical Educational lessons, visits to the resource centre/library, regular I.T. access, art, cooking, gardening, and ‘Buddy’ time with students from the senior school. We also attend Chapel every Friday with the whole St Peters community.

The curriculum includes a range of planned and spontaneous learning experiences that seek to develop children’s social, emotional, physical, spiritual and cognitive development.

To ensure we are able to offer your child the highest quality learning experience we have two Early Childhood trained teachers and one Early Childhood co-educator on duty each day.

Our educational program operates during school terms, and an ELC vacation care program is offered during school holidays ensuring a total of 48 weeks per year of quality care for your child. We are closed for the last two weeks of December and the first two weeks of January.

The ELC operates 5 days a week, providing education and care from 8.00am until 4.30pm during school terms. Enrolment is available for half sessions or full days each week. Children may be booked in for up to five days per week. The minimum amount of sessions is one full day or two sessions per week for a three year old and two full days or four sessions per week for a four year old. Children are accepted from their third birthday if there is a position available.

There is also out-of-hours care available in St Peters Lutheran Out of School Hours Care program (SPLOSHC) for parents who require additional childcare between 7.30 and 8 am and 4.30 and 6 pm.

St Peters Early Learning Centre is a fully licensed and accredited Early Learning Centre. Child Care Rebate Benefits apply. Accounts are sent out fortnightly and there is a one-time non-refundable fee payable at the time of enrolment. Children continuing on to Reception at St Peters Lutheran School will not be required to pay any further enrolment fees.
