Friday the 31st of August was a special morning for our St Peters Lutheran community. With nearly 190 Dads, Grandfathers, father-figures and children in attendance, our Father’s Day Breakfast was another wonderful, busy, buzzing morning. With an abundant breakfast spread, coffees flowing, decorations, and some bad dad jokes, the scene was set for a morning of great community, conversation, and quality time between our children and their Dads.
It was a delight to see so many Dads, Grandfathers and special friends relish the opportunity to spend a morning with their children. Throughout the morning, the children learnt more about their visitors through a series of questions found around the room. What is the best thing about being a Dad? What is one thing about me that reminds you of yourself? The photo-booth helped to capture the morning – lots of smiles, laughs and silly faces.
Our St Peters Dads, Grandfathers, Uncles, special friends and families are such an important and valued part of our community. It was a privilege to host this event in which there was such an atmosphere of joy and gratitude.
As part of our whole school celebrations, the St Peters Lutheran Early Learning Centre held their annual FUDGE night. FUDGE night welcomed Friends, Uncles, Dads, Grandpas Etc, in fact any male in the children’s lives to come together and celebrate the role played by these significant men.
Loads of pizza was eaten and then passports were collected that enabled everyone to visit stations set up around the ELC. The funny photos, face and nail painting, tomato planting, poem hand print and creative constructions gave a wonderful opportunity to spend time together learning and doing! To end the night the children sang songs of love to their visitors and gave some lovely gifts.
A massive thank you and congratulations goes to the ELC Staff, Rachelle Miller and her team of helpers from 3/4B, who all worked tirelessly to ensure that both events were wonderful successes, complete with all the treats and trimmings for all our deserving special guests.
