St Peters was founded in 1999 by St Peters Lutheran Church at Blackwood as part of its commitment to serve the local community.

This provided an opportunity to create a school of which students, parents and staff could feel proud. A school that started as 33 students has grown to approximately 250 on a beautiful campus in the lower southern Adelaide Hills.

What does St Peters Lutheran School have to feel proud of?
  • High levels of achievement in literacy and numeracy.
  • Being an International Baccalaureate World school.
  • Our Early Learning Centre catering for students aged three to five years providing a seamless transition to school.
  • The social action taken by students as acts of service to support others in the local and global community.
  • The leadership programme for students culminating in their final primary school year.
  • Our Year 7s who are well prepared for their transition into high school.
  • The responsible and respectful way that all students, including the very young, are able to resolve playground issues.
  • The confidence of our students that enables them to articulate their thinking, conduct class and whole school meetings and perform in front of a large audience.
  • The wonderful feedback we receive about our students’ behaviour and work ethic from others in the wider community.
  • Our strongly committed parent body who are passionate about our school and work hard to support it in a variety of ways.
  • Our modern facilities providing excellent learning spaces.
  • The integrated use of computers and hand held devices in classrooms as a tool for learning.
  • High quality before and after school hours care.
  • The reputation we have won in the tertiary sector as a school with outstanding teaching practices.
  • A community where the school and church live, work, play and worship together.
